Looks Back at The Scaffolding Industry
Did you know that scaffolding’s history can be traced back to 400 years BC? From the magnificent Sistine Chapel, the Gaza Pyramids, the Empire State Building to the Paleolithic cave paintings at Lascaux, scaffolds have been in existence whenever there were built or decorated structures. Today we ADTO GROUP are going to look back at the scaffolding’s history.

What is Metal Scaffolding?
Today, metal scaffolding is the norm. Tubular scaffolding has been the industry standard since the 1950s. It’s lightweight without compromising strength. Tubular scaffolding is quick and easy to assemble without the need for nuts and bolts. The metals used for scaffolding are typically steel or aluminum.

Stipulations on Scaffolding #5
Moving of mobile scaffolding is not allowed if the wind speed is more than 10 metres per second. Before moving the scaffolding it must be free of materials and material containers. No people allowed on moving scaffolding.

Stipulations on Scaffolding #4
Loads should be distributed as evenly as possible. During the lifting of loads onto the scaffolding it is necessary to use an additional rigging rope to prevent harsh hits against structural elements of scaffolding. Scaffolding must not be used as the storage for materials.

Stipulations on Scaffolding #3
It is forbidden for persons not involved in the process to access the place of assembling and disassembling of scaffolding during the process. It is not allowed to install metal scaffolding closer than 5 m to the wires of district electricity lines. Otherwise, during the processes of assembling and disassembling of scaffolding, the electric power has to be cut off and the wires earthed. Or the wires themselves have to be sheathed or dismantled.

Stipulation on Scaffolding #2
The pitch of the staircase must not exceed 60º to the horizontal surface. If the scaffolding is installed close to the driveways then the gap between the scaffolding and the vehicles should be more than 0,6 m. The height of the scaffolding is measured from the ground level, floor or platform on which it is installed. Decks and staircases have to be cleaned periodically during the works and after their completion. In the winter time, the snow and ice are needed to be removed and the sanding to be done.

Stipulations on Scaffolding
Scaffolds must not be attached to balconies or other hanging parts of the facade. Loads must not be more than those mentioned in the scaffolding’s manual or in the project. If more loads are needed to be applied then it has to be proved by calculation of strength and, if necessary, the scaffolding structure must be reinforced.

Scaffolding Rental Services: Top 3 Commercial Uses of Scaffolding
The applications of scaffolding dates as far back as the early 5th century. The ancient Egyptians and Chinese used these temporary supporting structures to erect high rise buildings. Fast forward to the present and you’ll find scaffolding still being widely used in both commercial and industrial applications. For the former, scaffolding rental services are commonly used in:

Mobile Scaffolding
Mobile Scaffolding is a powered or non-powered portable caster or wheel-mounted Scaffolding. It can be constructed of any components: Scaffolding Tube and Scaffolding Coupler fabricated frames or modular elements and must conform to design, construction and loading requirements for those Scaffolding Systems. The Scaffolds must be braced by cross, horizontal or diagonal braces, or the combination thereof, to prevent buckling or collapse.

Introduction to Modular Scaffolding
Ideally, a scaffolding system needs to be very flexible and fast to assemble. It must be erected quickly and efficiently. Modular scaffolding is the most advanced type of scaffolding system. Compared to non-modular systems, modular scaffolding provides enough versatility and reduces the time of assembly. High rigidity of joints gives more load-bearing capacity and height. Modular Scaffolding systems consist of standards with fixed connection points that accept ledgers, transoms, and diagonals that can be interconnected at predetermined (modular) levels.

How to Make the Scaffolding Operated Successfully?
Whenever any large build project is conceived, design and engineering considerations are the first steps which kick-start the project. These are supported by technology supplier and the engineering consultant that form the project management team. Any major or minor project involving construction activities always requires work at the height which can be met by the means of scaffolding. The project lead must consider scaffolding as a separate vertical along with major activities like civil work, mechanical work, electrical work, etc. Here are 3 key factors that will determine the success of any scaffolding operation:

3 Ways to Improve Scaffolding Safety at Construction Site
There are more than 2.3 million construction workers work on scaffolds. Working on the scaffolding platforms is dangerous. As a construction site manager, in addition to delivering customer satisfaction on the project, the most important thing you need to do is ensure the scaffolding safety. So, how can you effectively protect your scaffolders working on the scaffolding platform?
