With decades development, nowadays, scaffolding in China can be divided into tubular scaffolds, frame scaffolds, cuplock scaffolds, ringlock scaffolds and aluminum alloy scaffolds.During the use of scaffolding, we face many problems. For example, the service life.

Scaffolding’s service life is directly determined by materials, steel thickness and the conditions of galvanized coating. Because of it’s extensive using purposes, it is difficult for us to predict the service life of scaffolds. While in different working environments, such as  construction site,chemical plants or indoor decoration, it will have different service life.

There are three kinds of scaffolding steel: Q195, Q215 and Q235. Since the commonly used stuff on the construction site has a relatively high risks of damage, at the same time, the hardness and thickness of the steel are different. These factors will seriously affect the service life of the scaffolds. Therefore, Q235 steel is our best choice to use as scaffold steel.

The surface process of scaffolds is also a factor determining the service life. There are four kinds of surface processing technology: painting, cold galvanizing, hot dip galvanizing and double galvanizing.

However, due to the outdoors’ frequent using of scaffolding , it will be frequently exposed to wind and rain.  It is easy to rust and wear in the construction site.And the service life of scaffold will be greatly reduced after it is getting rusted.  At present,hot dip galvanizing is the most effective method to prevent rust, but the production cost is relatively high. So it is not economic to use hot dip galvanizing.

But the effect of cold galvanizing is not good, it just like the painting technology. Therefore, we recommend you to use double galvanizing technology, which has the same effect as hot dip galvanizing without high production cost.

In general, the service life of the scaffold is about two years, which depends on where the scaffold is used, it will be varied in different working environments.
