Common Causes of Scaffolding Collapse
Scaffolding collapse accidents happen occasionally during construction projects. Generally, the main causes of the scaffolding collapse accident include the following three aspects.
*For the precautions measures of scaffolding collapse accidents, please have a view on the next passage:
1. Material quality is not up to the standard
In today’s construction market, the percentage of using poor quality, overdue used scaffolding products is more than 80%, and the percentage of unqualified scaffolding coupler is more than 90%. These building materials used in the actual construction will bring serious potential safety hazards, resulting in frequent scaffolding collapse accidents.
2. The installation does not meet the specification requirements
1) When erecting and dismantling the scaffolding, some operators fail to wear safety hats and safety belts as required, or fail to operate in accordance with construction specifications for the sake of convenience;
2) Not operating in accordance with the construction organization design and construction plan, or not check a load of scaffolding according to the requirements, resulting in poor construction quality and scaffolding collapse.
3. Construction safety supervision is not in place
On the one hand, the construction supervision personnel fail to regularly check the construction progress and quality as required, or the inspection is not in place, and the safety technology disclosure is not timely, causing potential safety hazards;
On the other hand, because the management personnel failed to carry out strict construction supervision or failed to timely carry out safety education to the construction personnel, resulting in the construction site safety management loopholes, ultimately leading to the scaffolding collapse accident.
