In the early of 20th century of the UK, the steel pipe bracket composed of connecting parts and steel pipes was first applied, and gradually developed into the steel pipe scaffolding with fastening parts or we so-called Tubular Scaffolding. As this kind of bracket has the characteristics of simple processing, flexible dis-assembly and erection, convenient transportation and strong versatility, it is quickly popularized and applied to all countries in the world. At present, various forms of steel tube bracket for fasteners have been formed in many countries, and become one of the most commonly scaffolding system used to support Formwork System.
In the 1930s, adjustable steel prop were invented in Switzerland. This is a single steel prop whose height can be adjusted by using a screw jack. This kind of prop has been widely used in many countries because of its simple structure, flexible dis-assembly and assembly. Its structure can be divided into two types: screw thread exposed prop and screw thread closed prop. Compared with the screw thread exposed steel prop, screw thread closed steel prop has the advantages of preventing the dirt such as mortar from freezing the screw thread, protecting the screw thread from being damaged in using and handling.
