The coupler scaffolding system, also known as the steel tubular scaffolding with couplers, is a kind of scaffolding system made up of scaffolding couplers and scaffolding steel tubes characterized with small amount of members and accessories, easy installation and dismantlement by the connecting way of abutting the bolts and nuts.

The function of the couplers can be found in the connection between the steel tubes, with three major types: the rectangular coupler, the swivel coupler and the butt coupler.

1.The rectangular coupler:

Used for connecting 2 vertically connected scaffolding steel tubes. Its delivering of load is dependent on the friction power between the scaffolding coupler and the scaffolding steel tube.

2.The swivel coupler:

Used for connecting any scaffolding steel tubes inter crossing at any angle.

3.The butt coupler:

Used for abutting two scaffolding steel tubes to extend the length.

The steel tube in the coupler scaffolding system possesses a great essential part in the whole scaffolding system, also called the pipe rack. The backing board in the tubular scaffolding system is located at the bottom of the standing tube, different from the base plate which is welded from the steel plate and the steel tube and set on the backing board. The material of the backing board can be wood or steel.
