Division of Formwork System and Brief Introduction
The formwork system is a temporary or permanent mold into which concrete or similar materials are poured. There are six kinds of formwork systems according to the general classification:
1. Traditional Timber Formwork
2. Engineered Formwork System
3. Reusable Plastic Formwork System
4. Permanent Insulated Formwork System
5. Stay-in-place Structural Formwork System
6. Flexible Formwork
Below we will focus on the discussion of the first three formwork systems.
1. Traditional Timber Formwork
This kind of formwork system is built on site out of timber, plywood or moisture resistant particleboard. It has the advantages of easy to produce/obtain and flexible. When the other formwork system is used, the complicated part may use the timber formwork. The typical example of timber formwork is the ADTOGROUP’S formwork system used with film faced plywood. But the plywood formwork system has shortcomings of a short service life, more labor force costs and time-consuming.
2. Engineered Formwork System
The formwork system is built out of prefabricated modules with a metal frame (usually steel or aluminum). ADTOMALL’S Engineered Formwork Systems can be divided into Aluminum Formwork System, Adjustable Column Formwork System, and Steel Formwork System. These formwork systems are prefabricated with modular design which can highly improve the speed of construction. In addition, they also have the advantage of lower life-cycle costs as the formwork system made from steel or aluminum is durable.
3. Reusable Plastic Formwork
ADTO Plastic Formwork System is designed with the reusable and interlocking modular system. Its raw material is plastic, so it can be put in wet storage conditions. There is no need to worry about the corrosive and rust problems.
