China Pavilion in 2015 Milan Expo Meeting.
The 2015 Exposition Meeting was held in Milan on May, 1st. Among all the Pavilions, China Pavilion left a deep impression on people’s
mind. Wanke Pavilion is the first one to be completed in all the expo pavilions. The national pavilion and the enterprise joint pavilion were
also constructed at a steady pace. The chief designer of China Pavilion Building, Professor Lu Tiechen, introduced that the construction of
the main body, including the beautiful white waterproof layer, was completed in two weeks. The main board of the waterproof layer will
extend to the south part with the use of many different shapes of pipe scaffolding. The most important parts in decorating the pavilion
are interior designs, exhibition layouts and sightseeing, all of which were out-resourced and most of its products were transported into
Milan by air.
He said the biggest challenge was to build a Chinese Pavilion in a foreign place by using local Chinese techniques. The major part of the
pavilion was made of wood and scaffolding tube as we could see. Actually there were lots of joint points that need the Chinese
technicians to pay great efforts to communicate with the Italian designers. With a thorough study and research, they have come to a
satisfying agreement on the construction procedures. “Wheat Waves stroked by wind” was the final image of the China Pavilion that
came into people’s eye.
