ADTO Aluminum Formwork Project Case: Pinglu Canal Super Project
The Pinglu Canal is located in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and is the backbone project of the New Western Land-Sea Corridor. The project starts from the mouth of the Pingtang River in Xijin Reservoir District, Hengzhou City, Nanning City, passes through Luwu Town, Lingshan County, Qinzhou City, along the Qinjiang River and enters the Beibu Gulf. The total length is 134.2 kilometers. The designed annual one-way throughput capacity is 89 million tons. The total estimated project budget is about 72.7 billion yuan. It is constructed according to the standard of Class I inland waterways.
The Pinglu Canal is the country's first canal in more than a thousand years since the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. It focuses on developing shipping, while also taking into account water supply, irrigation, flood control, and improving the water ecological environment. The Pinglu Canal connects the Xijiang shipping trunk line and the Beibu Gulf international hub seaport. It will open up the main stream of the Xijiang River into the sea in the shortest distance, and connect Guizhou and Yunnan through multiple tributaries such as Zuojiang, Youjiang, Qianjiang, Hongshuihe, Liujiang, and Duliujiang. Achieve direct connection between inland waterways and ocean transportation in southwest China.
At the same time, the Pinglu Canal is also an important part of the New Western Land-Sea Corridor and an important support for the “One Belt, One Road” initiative. The New Western Land-Sea Corridor is a fast channel for trade and exchanges between China and ASEAN, South Asia, the Middle East, Europe and other regions. It is also a strategic channel for China to open to the west. The Pinglu Canal will make the new land-sea corridor in the west smoother, improve transportation efficiency and reduce transportation costs, promote economic and trade cooperation and cultural exchanges between China and countries and regions along the route, and enhance mutual trust, mutual benefit and common development.
After the canal is completed, it will fundamentally alleviate the navigation pressure on the lower reaches of the Xijiang River, and reduce the navigation pressure on the Yangtze River and Pearl River through rail-water combined transportation. In the long term, it will be connected with the Hunan-Guangxi Canal that is being studied and demonstrated, and will vertically connect the Yangtze River, Pearl River and Beibu Gulf, and better Serving the southwest and central-south regions and going south to the sea directly to ASEAN.
On August 28, 2022, the construction of the Pinglu Canal officially started. According to the technical requirements of the canal project department, a specialized technical design team was organized to conduct on-site investigation and design communication. Through multiple design discussions and sample trial production, the design drawings were finally confirmed in December 2022. In March 2023, the first batch of ADTO aluminum molds ordered by the project arrived at the Pinglu Canal Project. In March 2023, the second batch of ADTO aluminum molds ordered by the project arrived at the Pinglu Canal Project.
The application of ADTO aluminum formwork in the Pinglu Canal Super Project is not only a simple replacement of traditional wood formwork and plastic formwork construction, but also a comprehensive upgrade of modern construction technology. Through aluminum formwork construction, the Pinglu Canal Super Project greatly reduced the waste of human resources during the construction process, improved construction safety, reduced construction costs, and also provided more convenient conditions for the later maintenance of the project.
Up to now, the Pinglu Canal Project has used ADTO aluminum molds to construct canal berms amounting to one million cubic meters. It is believed that in the future, ADTO's aluminum formwork construction technology will play an important role in more super engineering projects and make more important contributions to China's infrastructure construction process. We look forward to the application of more advanced technologies and cooperation in the construction of more super projects, so as to bring China's infrastructure construction level to a higher level and provide a more solid foundation for the sustained and healthy development of China's economy.
