How Many Types of Scaffolding are Used in the Construction Project?

Scaffolding system used in construction projects can mainly be divided into the following types:

 

1. Steel scaffolding

Steel scaffolding is combined with steel scaffolding tubes which are fixed together by steel scaffolding couplers or fittings. It is very easy to erect or dismantle. Due to the steel has greater strength, greater durability, and higher fire resistance ability, steel scaffolding is widely used in today’s construction projects. Using steel scaffolding is not economical but will give more safety to workers.

 

2. Patented scaffolding

Patented scaffolding is made up of steel parts while equipped with scaffolding couplers and scaffolding frames with special specifications. In this kind of scaffolding, the working platform is designed like a bracket which can be raised and lowered to your required level.

 

3. Suspended scaffolding

The suspended scaffolding is a type of scaffolding whose working platforms are suspended from the roof and leaned on the building walls with the help of wire ropes or chains. The suspended scaffolding can be adapted to the required level and often used in the wall painting and roof repair.

 

4. Trestle scaffolding

Trestle scaffolding is one kind of movable scaffolding whose scaffolding frame is mounted up to several casters. It is often used inside of the room.

 

5. Single scaffolding

Single scaffolding is mainly used for brick masonry and is also called a brick layer’s scaffolding.

 

6. Double scaffolding

Double Scaffolding is generally used for stone masonry so, it is also called as mason’s scaffolding

 

7. Cantilever scaffolding

It is also called a single frame type scaffolding. This a type of scaffolding in which the standards are supported on a series of needles and these needles are taken out through holes in the wall.
